2. Learning results
1. Produce an academic paper containing original contributions by applying the knowledge, skills, abilities, aptitudes and attitudes acquired throughout the Master's studies.
2. Work autonomously and responsibly to achieve the proposed objectives.
3. Critically evaluate their own work.
4. Present their work, both orally and in writing, and defend it with order, clarity, argumentative rigor and linguistic correctness.
5. Assessment system
The MFP, which will be carried out individually, may be directed by one or co-directed by a maximum of three teachers of the master. The task of directing the MFP will involve continuous monitoring (with regular meetings) of the work done for the preparation, written presentation and oral defence before the MFP board. The director(s) will provide the student with general guidelines on the nature and requirements of the type of work proposed to be done.
The director(s) is responsible for validating and supervising the process of carrying out the work. The director may submit, if they so wishes, a report on the work addressed to the board of examiners.
a) Types of MFP
1. Modality A
It will consist of an original and integrative report. Based on at least two of the activities carried out throughout the Master's program (annual programming of a subject, didactic unit, innovation or research project, implementation of different activities, Practicum experience, etc.), a critical analysis and reflection will be made on the teaching profession, integrating the different knowledge and practices of their training process.
2. Modality B
It will consist of a research initiation work related to innovation or research lines previously offered by the teachers . At the beginning of the academic year, the faculty offers a proposal of lines with limited places that are approved by the Quality Assurance Committee of the Master's Degree.
b) Length and format
In any modality the papers will contain sufficient elements of personal creation and will adequately cite all sources used in APA format. It will have an extension of 20 to 40 pages in A4 size, plus the necessary annexes. The font will be Times New Roman 12, 1.5 spacing, justified text and normal margins.
c) Evaluation criteria
1. Competences to synthesize and integrate acquired learning and to contribute own ideas (60%)
- Background and references.
- Training and professional maturity.
- Capacity for analysis and reflection.
2. Written communication skills (20 %)
- Compliance with the established format.
- Structure and expository order.
- Compliance with the rules of citations and references.
- Adequate and coherent organization of the different sections of the work.
- Demonstrated level of general and professional speech.
- Written expression, spelling and grammar.
3. Oral communication skills (20 %)
- Mastery and understanding of the subject matter.
- Clarity, rhythm and organization of the presentation.
- Use of body language and voice.
- Selection of key information.
- Synthesis capacity.
- Compliance with established deadlines.
- Adequate and pertinent argumentation in response to the questions and comments of the board.
d) Development of the presentation and defence of the MFP
For the evaluation of the MFP and its defence, the Quality Assurance Committee will appoint a board of examiners composed of three teachers and three substitutes, following the general regulations of the University of Zaragoza. . The oral defence will be a maximum of 15 minutes of presentation followed by a maximum of 15 minutes of questions/answers and debate. The director(s) may be present during the defence and may speak once the student finishes their intervention and before the questions and observations of the board.
e) Grading
It will be graded from 0 to 10, and may be awarded honours in accordance with the regulations of the University of Zaragoza.
Finally, it must be taken into account that the Regulations of the Norms of Coexistence of the University of Zaragoza will be applicable to the irregularities committed in the evaluation tests by means of academic fraud, as well as the application of article 30 of the Regulations of the Norms of Evaluation of Learning in relation to irregular practices other than academic fraud.
